Normally, I would write an article about a mixtape or recent album release that I found either astounding, mind-blowing, or otherwise in desperate need of promotion if only for the sheer quality of the piece. However, because of personal obligations as well as professional, I did not have the proper time to do research for this week's post.
But rather than leave this simply a blank, unfulfilled week, I opted instead to early release a project I have recently spent a great amount of time on. While "To Joi" only contains two tracks, they are by far some of my most complex works to date. Drawing direct inspiration from a recent viewing of Blade Runner 2049, as well as a love for the original Blade Runner, I sought to capture an emotion I was feeling at the time. While I strive to do this with all of my music, I believe these may be my most accurate pieces thus far.
Since I was a child, I have wanted to fall into a love that was so pure yet so human that it excelled beyond human perception and into something more. Perhaps this is just an idea romanticized by Hollywood (I did watch many a film in my youth), but it is an idea I wholly believe in for I once felt it's presence. Now in my near mid-20's, I hope that one day I will find that pure, captivating love once again. A love that is More Human Than Human, much like that which exists between K and Joi in Blade Runner 2049.
